Drive your own sled (winter daytour)

Meet our friendly Alaskan huskies who are ready for action, & discover the life on a small kennel in a fun, safe and authentic way!

Drive a sled pulled by happy dogs, at a place where dog-care is the highest focus. Experience the silence of the forest, away from civilisation! We take small groups only, to offer the best possible experience.

After a warm welcome at our farm, we will ensure that you always feel safe & comfortable. Upon arrival, we equip you with winter clothes for you to stay warm during the trip. Then we enter the dog-yard to meet our dogs up-close and personal. You will be taught how to handle a team of huskies, and we will explain what Alaskan huskies are; their origin and history - and of course why we have them today! After the briefing, we are ready to head out & explore the wilderness!

We will be out on the trail, with views on deep forests and high mountains for about 2h depending on temperatures. You will drive the sleds in pairs (1 driver + 1 passenger) with the possibility to switch place regularly. You need to be in reasonable shape, to push uphill and hold the dogs downhill, since the terrain is slightly challenging. Get in touch if you can't drive and we will be happy to organise a tour for you!

During the trip we enjoy a reindeer soup by the bonfire (other diets available). We will also talk about our daily life with 35 huskies.

After the tour, we gather at our log-cabin for some hot drinks, homemade cake, and storytelling about our seasonal lifestyle with the dogs!

We recommend visiting with a rental car, it's a 2h scenic drive from Tromsø, and gives the flexibility to stop on the way back if there are Northern Lights! Bus option available in the morning.
