Multi activity week

Welcome to northern Norway! Exclusive stay for small and private groups, change of scenery guaranteed!

This week, we try out the best activities our region has to offer! And because we live at a small husky farm, we have the chance to do serveral dogsledding tours. We stay at the cosy and comfortable log-house at the farm, and try a new activity every day. After a homemade dinner with your hosts, just lift your gaze to admire the stars without light pollution... Who knows, maybe we will have the chance to see the northern lights dancing above us!

Program

Day 1 - Arrival day, story-telling around the bonfire

Pick up at Bardufoss (airport or bus). Once settled in your new home for the week, we meet and greet the dogs, sit in the dogyard around the bonfire and introduce our pack of Alaskan huskies. Learn about their fascinating history and origins, and why we have them today. We feed them together, and share with you the routines of our farm. We then gather for a welcoming homemade dinner, and introduce the week ahead. Warm and cosy, our large guesthouse is equiped so that you feel right at home!

Day 2 - Dogsledding in the mountains

Learn how to handle a team of huskies, and meet our dogs up-close and personal. After a short briefing, we are ready to head out & explore the wilderness! We will be out on the trail all day,  travelling through deep forests and mountains. You will drive your own sled in pairs, with a driver and a passenger per sled, and the possibility to switch place regularly.

Day 3 - Snowshoeing after moose tracks along the frozen river

Snowshoe hike along the frozen river, study animal tracks, make a bonfire in the snow, explore a frozen waterfall. We will of course bring with us a husky or two as companions!

Day 4 - Icefishing

‍Icefishing at a frozen lake, drilling a hole through the thick ice and trying our luck. Hopefully we will catch our dinner for the day!

Day 5 - Overnight at a cosy mountain hut

We will spend the day exploring the wild mountain pasture located right above our farm. We will stop for a cosy evening at our little mountain hut, and cook a good meal under the light of the candles. We can hopefully admire the northern lights dancing above us at night!

Day 6 - Relaxing and sauna day

Quiet morning and late brunch, with the possibility to do a little snowshoe hike or take it easy at the farm. In the afternoon, when it starts to get dark around 14:00 we will go for a evening dogsled tour in the dark with head lamps. When we come back, the sauna is ready for a relaxing time, and the most adventurous can try out snow-bathing!

Day 7 - Departure day

Farewells to the farm. Enjoy a leisurely morning and breakfast, before packing and saying goodbye to your new friends, dogs & humans. We drive you back to Bardufoss airport or bus station.

Accommodation: 100 years old log-cabin with 7 beds (2 bedrooms, 1 mezzanine, 2 bathrooms)

Level: we adapt to all levels, you just need to love dogs - if you are unsure, send us a few lines about yourself and your fitness level

Familial atmosphere in a cosy chalet

During the week you will stay at our cosy log-cabin right by the dog-yard. After a good day outside and a nice diner with locally sourced products (reindeer, moose, salmon, trout...), join for a warm and regenerating sauna. If we are lucky we will also get the chance to admire northern lights dancing above us, far from light pollution!

Driving your own team, a one-on-one with nature

In the Arctic, at 69 degrees of latitude North, join our daily life as mushers. For 7 days, make friends with our little husky family, 35 dogs aged 1 to 13.

One overnight to our mountain hut

To finish the week the best possible way, we offer you to spend a night at our little mountain hut, lit only by candles, and with the pack of dogs as best friends!

If you dream to learn everything about huskies, mushing and the winter lifestyle in Northern Norway, this is your chance!

We will give you an inside-out about Alaskan huskies, teach you the basics of driving dog-teams, and you will get the chance to meet the 35 of them up-close and personal. We will go out on sleds every day with 4 to 6 dogs, stopping for lunch by a fireplace where we will get the chance to relax and pet the dogs.
